Faith on the Road: English-Speaking Churches for Vienna, Geneva and Berlin

As a Christian who enjoys traveling, one of the biggest challenges I face is finding a place to worship on Sundays. I often feel anxious, especially when I am unsure if I will be able to find a Bible-believing church. There is always that small fear of walking into a service that may not hold Scripture as its core or that may feel unfamiliar and distant.
But over time, I have seen how God often provides just the right community at the right moment. I have been blessed to find English-speaking, Bible-believing congregations in a few unexpected places. Here are three that stood out to me in recent travels.
Vienna

I was visiting Vienna during New Year’s Eve, which happened to fall on a Sunday. In the middle of the beautiful old town, I found an English-speaking worship service that was faithful to the Bible, the Christ Church Vienna. The music was especially memorable. It was beautiful, reverent, and deeply moving. That moment reminded me that no matter how far I travel, I can still start the year by worshiping the same God with fellow believers.
Geneva

During a trip to Geneva, I was surprised to find a church affiliated with John MacArthur. It is called Geneva Bible Church. The sermon that day was clear, structured, and deeply rooted in Scripture. It had the kind of solid, expository teaching I value, and it was delivered in a way that was both applicable and easy to follow. For anyone familiar with MacArthur’s teaching, it felt like a familiar voice in a new city.
Berlin

Back in Berlin, I am part of IREC Berlin, which has become my home church. What I love most is how many visitors we receive from all around the world. I have met pastors and believers from Canada, Ireland, the UK, India, and Indonesia who have all come to Berlin and looked for an English-speaking service. Worshipping with them and hearing their stories has reminded me again and again that God is at work in every part of the world. Being part of a church that welcomes and connects believers from so many backgrounds has been a great encouragement.
If you are traveling and feeling unsure about where you can worship, I hope this gives you a bit of hope. There are faithful congregations out there. Sometimes you just have to look a little closer. And when you find them, they can become a meaningful part of your journey.
If you are an international visitor or someone looking for a home church in Berlin, I warmly invite you to join us at IREC Berlin. You will find a Bible-believing, English-speaking community with strong expository teaching, beautiful classical music, and heartfelt fellowship. We meet every Sunday at 9:30 AM in the historic Kaiser-Friedrich-Gedächtniskirche in Charlottenburg.
So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God. - Ephesians 2:19
